Key Cloud Security Take Aways from Beyond Security

At last week’s Beyond Security conference, high growth technologies like cloud, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and more took center stage. If you missed the event (or just want to review again), catch up on a few key Cloud Security takeaways:

1. Cloud and cybersecurity shouldn’t be siloed

Throughout Beyond Security, the need and benefit of solution selling was a hot topic. But beyond the obvious benefits of larger sales and better customer satisfaction, cybersecurity has become a must with Cloud opportunities to be keep your clients’ environment safe. Most breaches happen due to end user error, and that doesn’t change just by moving systems to the Cloud. Including cybersecurity as component of Cloud sales is key is helping your customers stay safe—and in control of their environments.

2. Find the right Cloud security solutions can be a challenge—but it doesn’t have to be.

The need for customization was also a running topic throughout Beyond Security—every business has their own challenges. But with the dozens of options available for Cloud security needs, how do you choose the right solutions?

In the Cloud Security Snapshot session, we covered a new tool that helps you customize the journey to fit your needs (and your end user needs). The first step is taking a short survey which allows us to gauge a reseller’s maturity tier and takes a quick “snapshot” of one of the end-customers’ security posture. Empowered with this information, we are now able to recommend specific, personalized enablement paths through our Partner Enablement Tracks mapped directly to the maturity level of the reseller. The Cloud Security Recommendation Engine allows us to quickly recommend products and solutions that are relevant to their needs.

3. Optimization and control is going to be a big focus for Cloud end users

On the mainstage, we heard key cloud statistics and trends, including that companies are looking to optimize their Cloud and gain better control over their environments. IDC found that by 2026, many organizations are looking to implement management systems over their cloud environments to gain control over their IT resources. Partners who can help their customers get full visibility and control over their systems stand to benefit.

4. Cybersecurity can help retire cloud commit quotas with hyperscalers

In the Beyond Business Breakout: The Marketplace Opportunity, we covered public Cloud marketplaces and how you take advantage of them. One of the key benefits is that end users can get significant savings from public cloud hyperscalers if they commit to a certain level of Cloud spend. The challenge becomes how to reach their committed spend level and how partners can stay relevant in that conversation.

The good news is that most of the purchases made through hyperscaler marketplaces, including cybersecurity products, count towards these commitments, allowing you to provide a more complete solution to your customers while offering significant cost savings on Cloud. Many cybersecurity vendors have solutions available on the public cloud marketplaces. If you’re not sure where to start, our team can work with you on finding the right solutions and working through the marketplaces.
