“Digital transformation” has been the buzzword over the last few years, rewiring organizations with the goal of creating value by continuously deploying tech at scale. To accomplish this vision, hybrid cloud infrastructure is often seen as one of the best options for organizations. In fact, recent surveys have shown that 82% of organizations have adopted a hybrid cloud as a part of their technology infrastructure.1 

By using this mixed computing, storage, and services environment made up of on-premises infrastructure, private cloud services, and a public cloud, organizations are able to take advantage of many benefits.

Although hybrid cloud solutions bring many benefits, they also bring challenges: security, operational complexity, and a skills shortage for managing the deployments to name just a few. That’s why developing a clear cloud strategy is vital for organizations. 

The TD SYNNEX CyberSolv team recommends you and your customers consider the following when strategizing and implementing an ideal hybrid cloud framework:

1.    Balance Agility With Value

It is important that the implementation and continued use of the cloud infrastructure help the overall value of the business. Ideally, you should ensure your customer’s network meets their innovation, security, and migration needs, without excessive hindrance to their speed, productivity and cost-effectiveness.

2.    Choose a Preferred Cloud Provider

Managing multi-cloud complexities is not easy. When starting any cloud network, organizations are encouraged to choose a preferred provider to assist in meeting business needs within the specified cloud framework. Using a Cloud Service Broker (CSB) can assist in creating and maintaining relationships with multiple cloud service providers (CSPs) as well, selecting the best provider for each customer and monitoring the services as needed.

3.    Utilize Distributed Cloud Services

Private cloud networks are often built to meet specific regulatory or infrastructure requirements, but they can be harder to manage than a public cloud. Distributed cloud services can assist in meeting private cloud network needs - all while keeping the advantages of public cloud.

4.    Always Secure Your Cloud

Choose the right cloud security service to ensure that access to the data is managed, classified and encrypted. This security should also continuously check for misconfigurations and anomalies.
