Explore 4 Major Trends From Beyond Security 2023

06-15-2023 13:50

Between May 21-24, 2023, TD SYNNEX CyberSolv partners gathered in Scottsdale, Arizona to strategize on the latest trends and celebrate the evolution of security technology at Beyond Security 2023 – Chart Your Course!

Centered on the theme of carving your own path to produce unique and secure solutions for your customers, we discussed various methods to accomplish that goal. Here are four major trends that we discussed in-depth during the event:

1. The Cloud-Enabled Future is Already Here – and it Needs to be Secured

One of the key messages shared was the need for a secure future across the entire network – especially in the cloud. In fact, a recent IBM Turbonomic report showed that 60% of organizations are running workloads in the cloud – and often across multiple clouds.1 By exploring the capabilities of multi-cloud architecture, hybrid work, Wi-Fi 6, and the security policies that go along with it, partners can set themselves up for success when it comes to organizational security.

2. We’re Going From VPN to ZTNA

Also during the event was virtual private networks (VPNs) and their projected transition into zero trust network access (ZTNA) services. Recent Gartner studies have projected this transition to happen over the next few years, with at least 70% of new remote access deployments being served mainly by ZTNA instead of VPN services by 2025—up from less than 10% at the end of 2021.2

3. The Cybersecurity Skills Gap is Still Wide – But it Can Be Bridged

Another big topic at the event was the cybersecurity skills gap and the various ways we could bridge it together to meet security demand. The good news: the cybersecurity workforce is at an all-time high of 4.7 million professionals. However, we need an additional 3.4 million more to meet the current demand. 3

4. Artificial Intelligence is Making Security Strategy Better

The final big trend discussed at the event was the impacts of artificial intelligence (AI) on security policies. Although AI is not perfected yet, it can still make a positive impact in how we monitor security. In fact, a recent IBM study showed organizations that had a fully deployed AI and automation program were able to identify and contain a breach 28 days faster than those that didn’t, saving an average of $3.05 million in costs.

Regardless of your needs - whether you are looking to build secure cloud networks, promote ZTNA or close the skills gap by helping onboard and train security professionals – the TD SYNNEX CyberSolv team has a solution offering to help you!
